Modeling stage
This page shows the progression of the quarter scale model produced for the project
In
the beginging there was a lump of clay resembling a car. An mdf
base board with shaped foam on top provide the basic shape for the clay
to follow.
The T Zero Nine clay model ready for a fibreglass mould to be constructed.
In the Darrian workshops with the top section of the mould finished.
Here is the mould all finished and the first body layed up and cured inside ready to be cracked open.
Here
is the body after a couple of layers of polyester spray and primer.
The windows have been sprayed on before it goes to the paintshop
to have the rest of the body painted.
Back
from the paint shop looking fantastic. Thanks to E and E
Williams and sons for the great job. Here the body is
propped up on blocks of wood and the wheels have been offered up
to
check the fit.
Finally
at the exhibition in the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea,
stealing the show! The integrated aerofoil can clearly be
seen at the back of the car here.
Another photo of the exhibition with the designer posing with
his creation. The flat work can be seen in the background.
Also here the aerofoil at the front can be seen, completing
the concept.
